JARVISJane Jarvis Hi, Thank you so much for letting me have the image of Jane's (and her husband's) gravestone. Jane was born Jane Briggs in West Ardsley, Leeds, Yorkshire, so she's a long way from home, so we wouldn't have seen it but for your efforts. Good luck with the site

MARSTONMany thanks for your assistanceI was interested to read that the grave of the Antarctic explorer and artist George Marston was in a country churchyard in Somerset. As I was touring in the area, I hoped to see the grave, but - probably because the inscription is badly weathered - I was unable to identify it. This service will, I hope, enable me to see it on a return visit - thanks!

TURNERLoaninghill Cemetery Uphall ~ Photograph Wanted PleaseHello A few years ago a wonderful volunteer helped with my request in taking some photos of my mum's final resting place in Loaninghill Cemetery in Uphall West Lothian. I was so grateful as i now live in New Zealand.Sadly last year i lost my brother who has been laid to rest beside our mum. I organised a lovely slate memorial for him and it was placed at the gravesite on the day of the funeral. I have no family members in Scotland who can help me get a photo showing my brother's memorial ~ i am so far away and would be very grateful if someone could perhaps help with my request. Many Thanks Alana

HOSKINSMany grateful thanks for the gravestone Many grateful thanks for the gravestone image for John Robert Freeman. John's wife Emily (nee Hoskins), 1851-1940, was my 3rd cousin. The image also provided information about 4 of their children, which was an added bonus. This is a most useful resource. Carole.

PRICEThe burial records for St James Church, The burial records for St James Church, STAUNTON, Worcestershire give all the details but I would dearly like to know if there are gravestones/photos of my relatives buried there. My GGGG grandfather Job PRICE of Staunton Court buried 17 April 1807 55 years. His wife Elizabeth PRICE (nee BARNES) of Staunton Court buried 26 July 1830, 88 years. Their eldest son my GGG grandfather John PRICE of Poole House, Upton on Severn 24 June 1843, 67 years. HARPERWilliam and Ann Harper and sons William and George memorial plaqueThank you for the excellent reproduction of the Harper family memorial inscription. I have known about the inscription for some time and have searched the graveyard on several occasions without success and assumed that it was a gravestone that was no longer legible or still standing until I found the photo on your site and realised it was actually inside the church and being able to get such a good clear image has saved me another trip to Norwich. William Harper the son was actually 32 when he died and not 52 as stated. Thank you again for an excellent service. .... more

METCALFHelpful photosThis site was very helpful and it is gratifying to see the actual gravestone of my ancestor. Living in Canada, it is not viable for me to go to the graveyards in England to do this research. I truly appreciate the volunteers who have spent so much of their time making it easier of others to track the details of their ancestors' final resting place. Many thanks, Rosemary P

RITCHIEThe Reverend David Ritchie 1762 to 1844 Being able to view the Gravestone of the Reverend Ritchie will no doubt help no end in a linked search. I am also very impressed at the speed in which my request has been processed. There is so much more to looking at an old or ancient monumental description. I have in the past found it to be a kind of trigger and on one occasion at least when I found that there was no marker at all in a cemetery the unexpected happened. The ancestor at that time wasn't even one of mine, just someone that I had been asked to help find in Australia by someone else in England. Within the week that ancestor's grand-daughter walked into our office and in only a few moments I not only learned who she was but every vital detail about her grand-father. Two months later the grand-daughter was able to call on and see her long lost cousin in Yorkshire. Never give up, Malcolm Hutton
