CAPARNThank you for the photo of John Caparn'sThank you for the photo of John Caparn's headstone. A great service you provide for people that are unable to get to these places from the other side of the world. MINCHINMinchin / Dumas family historyThis resource set up by Charles Sale has proved invaluable in my ancestral research. The image of the family gravestone that he sent me was more useful than all the census searches I had done!(Not to mention a little emotional too.) Thank you Charles Sale.

SHEPHERDSHEPHERD/ WISHARTI live in the United States and will probably never see my "Home land" in person, this makes researching my family history very difficult. Having a site like this means WORLDS to me, you allow me to travel the blustery cemetaries of Scotland from the warmth and comfort of my home...all while enjoying a cup of tea! Thank you for making the journey for me. Warm Regards, Maryeileen.

HILLENThank you so muchThank you Charles for confirming for me the location of William Hillen's grave. All I have is a photo of the said grave, taken by my father, that was found in with some paperwork after his death, but unfortunately, he hadn't put any details to as the location. I wouldn't have even known where to start looking! Many thanks.

BURTONBURTON/HALLBURTON AND DERIVATIThanks very much for your help. I am looking form the surname of Burton in the Border areas. The name was Hallyburton in the mid 1800's, when John Allyburton was known as Burton when he was the Sheriff's Officer for Duns and Berwick. We do not know when or where he died. Can any one assist. Regard to all. John Burton of Chester Cheshire.

LINFOOTMany thanksInteresting to see my great great grandfather's and mother's gravestone. I recently inherited a wall clock with the inscription 'Presented to G & A Linfoot by Lady Sykes 1860' on the pendulum. They both worked at Sledmere House and think this may be a gift for their wedding.

CHITTICKCHITTICK/CHITTOCKThank you for sending this through so quickly. I read your comment that you don't receive many acknowledgements. I appreciate the time this sort of thing takes, so I am very grateful.I'm really enjoying the research, on another side of my family I've just discovered that my great great uncle died in the Somme which is something my living family knew nothing about. The whole thing is so fascinating. Websites like yours make it so much easier and more interesting.

CRAWFORDCRAWFORD, WOOD, GROCKOCK, SKIPThank you ever so much for this excellent service, Charles. Geneology is such an expensive business and it is very refreshing for someone to have gone to the trouble of creating such an amazing website for free. I do hope that your site generates enough traffic so that you may earn something back from a few selective and appropriate advertisements. If everyone who uses this site could photograph headstones in their own area then this will further your mission. I for one, will be doing just that. Best wishes and good luck with this venture. David

26/08/2010643
MAGRATHMAGRATHThank you Charles for this wonderful service. My interest is in Miles Binny Magrath who was at Haileybury with one of my Great Uncles and served with him in the RND during the Great War. I wondered what had happened to him afterwards, and you have shown that he lived to a good age and had a slightly exotic wife!
