FOWLESApparrent duplicationI am researching the FOWLES family in Worcestershire, England. There appear to be two gravestones for Mary FOWLES [died 1893] No. 3008 at St James, Callow End and No. S6300063 at St Peter, Powick. The photos of each grave look the same to me. The people on the gravestone are the same except that Mary is 83 on the Callow End Entry and 80 on the Powick one. Her death registration is as follows: FOWLES, MARY; Aged 80 [thus born about 1813]; GRO Ref.: 1893 Q4 in UPTON-ON-SEVERN Vol. 6C Page 190. Both Powick and Callow End are in the Upton-on-Severn Registration District. Mary FOWLES nee NEWMAN married William FOWLES 06 Oct 1834 at All Saints, Worcester, Worcestershire, England. Their son Mark Henry FOWLES was baptised 28 Feb 1841 in Madresfield, Worcestershire, England. He died in Worcester Infirmary 25 September 1903 although he was living Saltmarsh Castle, Bromyard, Herefordshire where he was presumably a farm bailiff.

HARRISThis is a wonderful service and I have used it several times. Fast and friendly response. Charles iI have found several gravestones on this site, as well as added information on my ancestors to help others that may find them. It is so great to find these stones in England where I cannot go to get to them. The photos are clear and of good resolution, as well as having the information transcribed. And this recent gravestone gave me some startling news. Thomas Harris was born in 1722 and died in 1829. Yes this man born in the early 1700's lived to be 107 years old. Wow. Thanks again, Charles. You are very appreciated by many.

BUCKLANDWhat a wonderful serviceI have been researching my family tree for some time now, mainly using Ancestry, and it continues to grow and grow at an alarming rate but to find a link to your site was very exciting. To see actual photographs of headstones, and in this case for my Great Uncle's wife, namely Kate Buckland, it helped me get accurate death dates for her, her husband and their son. I shall now make a point of visiting the cemetery to pay my respects to these family members and others I now know are also buried there. Detailed family research is a relatively new phenomena and very addictive and compelling. You and your volunteers make the whole experience even more so. Please continue with your good work, we researchers really do appreciate it and just maybe one day I shall find time to help you!

WATTSDear Charles, I congratulate you on a fiDear Charles, I congratulate you on a fine resource. I surveyed my village churchyard, Pettistree, in Suffolk to record the inscriptions but not with photos for even some recent ones are unreadable on a photo. I was able to reconstruct the image of all 205 memorials back to 1697, some with reference to earlier records. Where recognised I used the same font and spacing of the inscription in an outline of the memorial. Are you interested? Mike

MEALINGThank you for the image of Isaac and Betty RingroseMany thanks Charles for this image, with much new information on the maternal ancestors of the Mealings who sailed to Australia in 1854 to become pioneers in southern New South Wales. By the way your email with all its valuable links landed in my gmail spam box - it was 3 days there before I noticed it - I wonder if some of your unacknowledged emails to other researchers met the same fate. Thank you again.
