| SHEPHERD | Alderman W.P.Shepherd | The above was the first labour councilor elected to Thornaby-on-Tees Town Council. He was a carpenter by trade and I believe at one time a trade union official. In the 1930s he became a full time political agent for the Labour Party in the Stockton-on-Tees Constituency. He was instrumental in the defeat of Harold Macmillan (later P.M.) in the 1945 Election seeing George Chetwynd returned to Westminster as the M.P.

| TUCKER | Frederick Tucker of Georgeham, Devon | Frederick Tucker, Born 1873 in Bishops Tawton, died in Bristol in 1900, and was buried at Arnos Vale cemetery. His name is shown on the gravestone at Arnos Vale.

He was for many years the organist at Holy Trinity Church. I used to sing in his choir and also played the organ when he was on holiday.
