COATESBainbridge grave photo - COATES/DINSDALE OF NORTH YORKSThank you Charles for the grave photo of the Bainbridge family of Marrick Abbey. It's great to see some physical evidence of all my online research!

HARE-GILLElizabeth Hare-GillThe entry for Elizabeth Hare-Gill contains the following note. Elizabeth Nee Garth born in Thornthwaite Cum Padside...Daughter of John Garth and Susannah Skaife.John Garth was a farmer. I think that Elizabeth Garth was actually the daughter of John Garth's first wife, Dinah Holmes. They married in 1874 and Dinah died in 1880. Dinah was the daughter of William Hilmes and Susanna Lister of Timble Great.

TAYLORTAYLOR, FROOMThank you to all involved in constructing and maintaining this valuable resourse. As you can probably deduce from my email address I am located a long way away from the UK and this resourse will enable me to visualize and experience my ancestor's final resting places.

DOWSONThank you very much Charles Thank you very much indeed Charles for sending me the image of my maternal Great great Grandparents Margaret and Robert Dowson's headstone and the surprise added image you sent of their youngest son William Dowson birth year 1885 and his wife Annie(nee Showler)birth year 1884, I have also since discovered William and Annie's baby son William birth year 1921 was also burried there on 27 January 1922 he was age 10 months, he died 24 January. Annie was in the very early stages of pregnancy when her husband William died, I found this so sad that she lost both her loved ones in such a short time of each other. Also Margaret Dowson's birth year was 1854 and Robert Dowson birth year was 1853 he died May 15th 1943 aged 90 years, and not 1947 as stated, As I have side before this is a fantastic useful & very resourceful service that you have so kindly provided along with your team of volunteers it's a brilliant website. It has been a great help to me as I live in France and am not able to visit the cemetery myself. I regularly visit your website now as I am still researching the many branches of my family and I am always hopeful of finding images of my families members monuments. Thank you once again and my thanks for images you have already provided. (Please accept my sincere apologies for getting you name wrong in a previous comment I put on your website) With Kind Regards Cindy Davies

HOBSONSt Michael and All Angels\' Church, HeadingleyI was hoping to find photos of gravestones for Faith Hobson, dau of Joseph of Woodhouse and Elizabeth Hobson (nee Wright), wife of Joseph of Woodhouse Lane. These are mentioned on the website for yorkshirecdbooks for Headingley, but not on GPR website. The Hobsons were stonemasons so there should have been at least one stone but may be illegible as Joseph was buried in 1830 and Faith and Elizabeth a little before that. I am trying to find the birth date and place of Joseph Hobson. If anyone can help in any way I would be really grateful.Chris

MARDENMARDEN & GIBBSI was so amazed when I found this site. I am traveling to England in a couple of weeks and want to do my family research while I was there. I had no idea of where to start before I found this. Now I have more information and guess I will start with the cemeteries where they are interred. Please let me know if this is the best place to start because I have limited time. Thank you!

PHIPSONThank you! .... and further information if possibleHello Charles. Many thanks for providing such a speedy response to my request for an image of Thomas Lamb Phipson's gravestone. Images always help to bring my Family Tree 'to life'. Greatly appreciated! I have one query, about another gravestone, if you don't mind me asking. While researching another branch of my Family Tree, I discovered, to my horror, that the gravestones in Walthamstowe Cemetry in Essex have been very poorly cared for by the local council & most are missing, with the grave plots having been sold to other, unrelated members of the public! This featured a fews years ago in a newspaper article in the 'Observer' about Council neglect! So, Grave Number 3624A which contained the remains of 2 of my ancestors viz Emily (Wellington) Low (buried 1877) and Edgar Wellington Low,has now been resold to another family. What's more, they have no idea where my family's remains are now, and they say that the gravestone has just 'gone'! Shocking to me! Do you know any more about this particular Cemetry's way of handling things, or about how I can find out more about the people who were originally buried there & their headstones? How could they just 'disappear'?

CLARKgeneral listingsGreat site, but is there a way to list surnames by date, say 1700\'s or 1900\'s? Sure would save some time and eye strain. If I\'ve just overlooked that, my apologies. I have some handicaps and it\'s hard for me to search very long in one sitting. But I really like your site, thank you for all the info. God bless J S .... more

Church Location Details correctionI believe that you have a church wrongly listed. Your records show: All Saints's Church Herefordshire (Cemetery 1410) the Church Photograph you have is of: All Saints's Church HERTFORD, HERTFORDSHIRE Common mistake as many people confuse Hereford and Hertford. I was raised in Hertford and attended the Church. Regards

Spreadsheet link problemHi Charles, I've been reading through your Volunteer information & found that the page to access a blank spreadsheet comes up as non existent. I would like to volunteer to photograph & record The 'Ipswich General Cemetery' Queensland, Aus. but could see nowhere to actually sign up. With re: to the spreadsheet, I have my own program & will just use the headings from your example. Thought you'd like to know about the link though. Cheers, Nina.
