WINCHESTERWilliam Albert WinchesterFirstly, my apologies for the delay in thanking you for the image. As you may know, family history research goes in fits and starts (at least it does with me). I had intended to thank you as soon as the image arrived, but I stored it for later use and then promptly forgot about it. For anyone else researching the Winchesters, William Albert was/is a distant relative from Bristol.

WINGATENo imagesHi, I'm very sorry, but I'm just not receiving the required images. It may be that my protection system is not allowing them through, although I've not had any problems in the past. Anyway, perhaps they'd come through via my Hotmail address? If so, I'll try that later. Kind regards, Lynette Smith

BINNSGravestone at FEWSTON, Yorkshire - BINNS/HOLMES/HODGSONThank you Charles for your fast service that my mother Ilma received. My mom is in her 80's and we came across your site while we were researching our family. I noticed that the link you send in your emails is not "live" meaning you can't just click on it and it takes you to the photo. I had to email my mom and tell her how to copy and paste the info. into her browser. Anyway, it worked. My mom is lives in Yorkshire and I am in Canada so between us we did okay! Again, thank you for your hard work. Jan

Furthermore, thank your dedicated volunteers who have put in the time and effort so that we can have access to these important monumental images. Arlene Hunt

FRERESymbol on Frere headstones in Hove and ThorleyThe symbol of Christ crucified on an anchor seems to be common Frere theme and your addition of the Hove, Sussex headstone for John J B Frere has prompted me to research the family connection further. Thank you for your informative website.

EWINGGPR 60031 This memorial has decayed badly in the last ten years. I have photos from ten years ago which show everything more clearly. Note this is GE's burial ground - but he himself is buried in Eastwood, Glasgow. He moved there after his first wife died, and she is the first name on the memorial (missing on your caption) "Anne Innes, spouse of Greville Ewing died 23 August 1795". Janet Jamieson was his second wife. Isabel Gray is indeed the wife of Alexander Ewing but NOT the mother of Greville Ewing: she is his step-mother, his mother having died. Jacobina Evans was a niece of Greville Ewing.

ROTHINROTHIN/RATHINI am searching for any graves of family with the surname Rothin or similar. (eg. Rathin, Rothen, Ruthen, Rothan). They lived in the area prior to 1820, but other branches of the family may have been there later. What a great site. I look forward to any "finds" & thank you in advance.

WIGBYThanksAmazing! Researching a family story for a friend who has emigrated to Australia and through your wonderful website I have been able to send her a photo of her grandmother, gt grandfather and great aunts grave. Thank you so much from both of us! I have also been on the request for help page and promised help to a fellow in the US who is researching a family in my home town. All good news. I shall be visiting the site again without doubt and when the better weather comes will try to send you photos of graves in the local church here in York. Many thanks again for a wonderful website.

QUINTONVery grateful !Delighted to receive the photo entitled Charles Quinton. The name on the monument is partially obscured by vegetation, but if you look closely I think you will agree with me that the name of the deceased was James (not Charles). By way of confirmation the Bury & Norwich Post dated 20 December 1859 records this death as "at Elmswell, in the 81st year of his age, Mr. James Quinton"

REDFERNJoseph Elmer Peacock 1878-1885There is some confusion about the relationships on Josephs tombstone. He died when he was 7 and cant be the father of Jessie who not born until 1913 and is likely the daughter of Samuel Redfern. Also, Samuel Redfern cant be the father of Joseph as he was only 2 when Joseph was born. If anyone knows the connection between the Peacocks and the Redferns, could they let me know, please? .... more

KNELLERWalter S. KnellerMany thanks for sending the image of the grave monument in Elmsworth Cemetery, Suffolk which features Walter Samuel Kneller, Ellen R. Kneller, Dorothy E. Forsdike (Kneller) and Bertie Eustace Forsdike. Although I had already been sent a grave headstone transcription it is nice to have an image and I am grateful to whoever took the photograph and to you for taking the time and effort to send me the image. I do have further information about these family members and I shall be sending it to you by the method you have explained in your message.

KNELLERMary Ann KnellerMany thanks for sending the image of Mary Ann Kneller's grave monument in Ash Cemetery. The date of death and her age shown on the image is the same as appears on the Ash burial record and the GRO Index but I'm afraid the absence of any further family information means that at present I am still unable to place her within a Kneller tree or suggest further data to add to your records. I am, however, very grateful to whoever took the photograph and to you for taking the time and effort to send me the image. If I do discover any further information about Mary Ann Kneller I shall certainly send it to you.
