WIGBYThanksAmazing! Researching a family story for a friend who has emigrated to Australia and through your wonderful website I have been able to send her a photo of her grandmother, gt grandfather and great aunts grave. Thank you so much from both of us! I have also been on the request for help page and promised help to a fellow in the US who is researching a family in my home town. All good news. I shall be visiting the site again without doubt and when the better weather comes will try to send you photos of graves in the local church here in York. Many thanks again for a wonderful website.

REDFERNJoseph Elmer Peacock 1878-1885There is some confusion about the relationships on Josephs tombstone. He died when he was 7 and cant be the father of Jessie who not born until 1913 and is likely the daughter of Samuel Redfern. Also, Samuel Redfern cant be the father of Joseph as he was only 2 when Joseph was born. If anyone knows the connection between the Peacocks and the Redferns, could they let me know, please? .... more

KNELLERWalter S. KnellerMany thanks for sending the image of the grave monument in Elmsworth Cemetery, Suffolk which features Walter Samuel Kneller, Ellen R. Kneller, Dorothy E. Forsdike (Kneller) and Bertie Eustace Forsdike. Although I had already been sent a grave headstone transcription it is nice to have an image and I am grateful to whoever took the photograph and to you for taking the time and effort to send me the image. I do have further information about these family members and I shall be sending it to you by the method you have explained in your message.

KNELLERMary Ann KnellerMany thanks for sending the image of Mary Ann Kneller's grave monument in Ash Cemetery. The date of death and her age shown on the image is the same as appears on the Ash burial record and the GRO Index but I'm afraid the absence of any further family information means that at present I am still unable to place her within a Kneller tree or suggest further data to add to your records. I am, however, very grateful to whoever took the photograph and to you for taking the time and effort to send me the image. If I do discover any further information about Mary Ann Kneller I shall certainly send it to you.

This will help us to locate the grave as we never knew exactly where they were buried and want to visit it to leave flowers. HARMERMore InformationThank you once again for this lovely, clear photo, which is an enormous benefit in terms of information about this family. I can add a few things about Daniel Harmer, he was a wharfinger and managed about 7 vessels sailing to different parts of England with his colleague James Boardman, and together they traded as Boardman and Harmer. You can google "Daniel Harmer Wharfinger" and come up with various interesting articles, for example his feedback in the House of Commons where he answered questions in connection with a navigation bill, also an unfortunate story about Daniel Harmer and a steamship called "the Bold Buccleuch". Daniel was married to Maria Newby on 26th Dec 1803 at St Martin @ Palace, Norwich. Their daughter Maria Harmer was born 23rd June 1819 when her father was a waterman. In 1841 they lived at 115 West End Cottages on Chapel Field Rd, and had three servants. Maria still lived there in 1851 after Daniel died, and employed two servants and a nurse. Daniel's will was proved in Canterbury. Daughter Maria married William Jay in 1838 and then Justinian Barrell Clarke in 1845 two years after the death of William. Her will was proved in Norwich when she lived at 21 Surrey St.I hope this will be helpful to someone, the photograph of the family's monument has paradoxically brought them all very much alive to me, and I'm very grateful to have received it. RUDDICKGreat service providedThis site is great,it provides a valuable service to so many. Without this kind of dedication to keeping the memorials to our lost loved ones we would be losing so much. Along with the helpful pictures kindly provided free of charge, the birth and death dates and names are there to help people in their family research or confirmation of that research. Thanks.

EDRICHEssential ResourceAs time passes, the condition of gravestones that have been preserved so far deteriorates. Without such web sites as gravestonephotos.com and the generous time of volunteers to record them and maintain the web site, many of us would not have photographic evidence of our ancestors burial sites to add to our genealogy. Thank you very much.
