BARKERThank you for your helpThank you for the photo of my grandparent's grave. This will help us to locate the grave as we never knew exactly where they were buried and want to visit it to leave flowers. I never thought I would find this information on the internet and it is a wonderful link to the past.

HARMERMore InformationThank you once again for this lovely, clear photo, which is an enormous benefit in terms of information about this family. I can add a few things about Daniel Harmer, he was a wharfinger and managed about 7 vessels sailing to different parts of England with his colleague James Boardman, and together they traded as Boardman and Harmer. You can google "Daniel Harmer Wharfinger" and come up with various interesting articles, for example his feedback in the House of Commons where he answered questions in connection with a navigation bill, also an unfortunate story about Daniel Harmer and a steamship called "the Bold Buccleuch". Daniel was married to Maria Newby on 26th Dec 1803 at St Martin @ Palace, Norwich. Their daughter Maria Harmer was born 23rd June 1819 when her father was a waterman. In 1841 they lived at 115 West End Cottages on Chapel Field Rd, and had three servants. Maria still lived there in 1851 after Daniel died, and employed two servants and a nurse. Daniel's will was proved in Canterbury. Daughter Maria married William Jay in 1838 and then Justinian Barrell Clarke in 1845 two years after the death of William. Her will was proved in Norwich when she lived at 21 Surrey St.I hope this will be helpful to someone, the photograph of the family's monument has paradoxically brought them all very much alive to me, and I'm very grateful to have received it. RUDDICKGreat service providedThis site is great,it provides a valuable service to so many. Without this kind of dedication to keeping the memorials to our lost loved ones we would be losing so much. Along with the helpful pictures kindly provided free of charge, the birth and death dates and names are there to help people in their family research or confirmation of that research. Thanks.

EDRICHEssential ResourceAs time passes, the condition of gravestones that have been preserved so far deteriorates. Without such web sites as gravestonephotos.com and the generous time of volunteers to record them and maintain the web site, many of us would not have photographic evidence of our ancestors burial sites to add to our genealogy. Thank you very much.
