STEEDMANImage of graveI found this site quite by accident while searching for any information about the Steedman family from Nottingham. What a wonderful resource this is! I found there was a photograph of the grave which was sent to me this morning. This was the link I was looking for and I'm so grateful to Charles for the invaluable job he is doing. What a service!

BOTTERILLWonderful siteFeeling very fortunate this evening to have discovered images of 2 gravestones for 4 of my GGGGrandparents on the site. A huge help to my research. Thank you. In both cases the wives had died in a different area to their husbands & I had not known they were buried together. I also had been unsure of the wives exact date of death. Thank you Mr Sale for creating such a wonderful website.

I would love it if someone would do Logie Durno Church yard in Scotland. I have Family there going back to the early 1800īs and cannot get up there.

JACKSONThanks from AustraliaMany years ago our son gave us a small, beautifully illustrated book by a gentleman named Ernest W Jackson of Harrogate. The artistry of the work is absolutely beautiful and I've always wished to know more about this gentleman. Now, thanks to a Google search and the amazing web site set up by Charles Sale, I'm in possession of a photo of Ernest's headston with the additional information of a lady I assume to be his wife. This has of course ensured that I will try to learn more about him and his life up to his date of death, 1918. Perhaps he died during the First World war. Thank you so much Charles, and if anyone is looking for photos of ancestor's gravestones/burial plots in Queensland, Australia, I would be very happy to help if at all possible.

CULPITWhat a fantastic serviceDear Charles. I can't thank you enough for the amazing service you provide. I live and Canada and my sister lives in France. We have been researching our ancestory for quite some time and have traced our family back to the Culpits who lived in Charsfield. I believe George Culpit is my 3rd Great Grand Uncle and the son of my 4th great grandfather, John Culpit born in Suffolk in 1793. Thank you so much for your help. I only wish my bank was as efficient as this!!

CRABBIEphoto. of grave of Miller Crabbie As far as I know from our family tree all people in Scotland (and some in England)with the surname Crabbie are descended from him despite the fact that most of his many children died so very young,as opposed to many of his descendants who lived to a ripe old age! Any information welcomed.

The photo has exceeded my expectations both in terms of the unbelievable clarity of the inscription and the value of the information it provides. I really do commend you on the truly wonderful and worthwhile service you are providing in offering people the chance and above all, the hope, of tracing their family roots. Without your great enthusiasm and resolve the wealth of information held within these cemetries would be very quickly lost forever.
