JACKSONThanks from AustraliaMany years ago our son gave us a small, beautifully illustrated book by a gentleman named Ernest W Jackson of Harrogate. The artistry of the work is absolutely beautiful and I've always wished to know more about this gentleman. Now, thanks to a Google search and the amazing web site set up by Charles Sale, I'm in possession of a photo of Ernest's headston with the additional information of a lady I assume to be his wife. This has of course ensured that I will try to learn more about him and his life up to his date of death, 1918. Perhaps he died during the First World war. Thank you so much Charles, and if anyone is looking for photos of ancestor's gravestones/burial plots in Queensland, Australia, I would be very happy to help if at all possible.

CULPITWhat a fantastic serviceDear Charles. I can't thank you enough for the amazing service you provide. I live and Canada and my sister lives in France. We have been researching our ancestory for quite some time and have traced our family back to the Culpits who lived in Charsfield. I believe George Culpit is my 3rd Great Grand Uncle and the son of my 4th great grandfather, John Culpit born in Suffolk in 1793. Thank you so much for your help. I only wish my bank was as efficient as this!!

CRABBIEphoto. of grave of Miller Crabbie As far as I know from our family tree all people in Scotland (and some in England)with the surname Crabbie are descended from him despite the fact that most of his many children died so very young,as opposed to many of his descendants who lived to a ripe old age! Any information welcomed.

KELLOCKResearch for a biography - KELLOCK/CREASER/REA/GIBSONI am very grateful for the image I have received of a prominent Totness resident named Thomas Creaser Kellock. I am writing the biography of his great grandson, William Gibson who was born at Lake Mead in Maudlin Rd in 1944. The historical society in Totness has been very helpful and I plan to give them a copy of my book when it is completed (early 2013). It will be called 'The Good Prof'.

HOGGThanks for providing a very worthwhile & invaluable service!Thank you so much for the fast response. The photo has exceeded my expectations both in terms of the unbelievable clarity of the inscription and the value of the information it provides. I really do commend you on the truly wonderful and worthwhile service you are providing in offering people the chance and above all, the hope, of tracing their family roots. Without your great enthusiasm and resolve the wealth of information held within these cemetries would be very quickly lost forever.

MCALINDENthank youThank you so much for sending me the photos of Patrick McAlinden's gravestone. I was delighted to see it, particularly as when I wrote to St. Edward's church, I was told they could find no record of my great great grandfather's burial! The inscription at the base of the stone, which is difficult to read and therefore does not appear on your index, relates to Patrick's daughter Margaret McAlinden, who,I have discovered, died on 3rd march 1872, aged 10 months.
