Wolverhampton Wolverhampton references should be shown as Staffordshire NOT Shropshire. In 2011 it would normally be categorised as in the West Midlands but historically Staffordshire is its ancient County location and most researchers would be content with that.

The James who died age 4 years is James McLachlan son of William McLachlan and his second wife Jeanie/Jane Livingston. The information adds to the information I already have and I now know there is no memorial for his Uncle John McLachlan who was buried there in 1850.

Spelling error in village name"Witten by Walsham" (St Margarets) - the name is actually Witton. The near village is currently mapped as Witton Bridge. Referring to it by its proximity to North Walsham may be valid; never heard it referred to that way by my family however (my uncle was and may still be a keyholder for the church). .... more
