WRIGLEYTimothy Wrigley died 23 April 1841I believe our Timothy is buried amongst many T. Wrigleys in one of the 3 huge cemeteries attached to St. Chads, Uppermill, Yorkshire. I hope one day that your organisation will photograph this cemetery. In 2001 the local TIC sold me copies of transcriptions of 2 of the 3 cemeteries. The third had not yet been transcribed, but I hope this has been rectified by now.

JOSEPHYWhat a wonderful siteI have used this site before, and for people like myself who are unable to travel around the country to find the graves of their ancestors, it is absolutely invaluable. What a project!! Well done to all involved - family history researchers need to not only take advantage of this, but to also help out where possible.

SCRIVENMy Family Begins Here!Charles, I put most of my comments about your work in my request, but wanted to add here that I am so thrilled that I found your site and am so appreciative that you are doing this! My mother's family are all from Leeds, and being American, I have no idea of them and my Mom talked very little of her family. I think because she left for "the colonies" and didn't keep in very good contact, there was some ill feelings. But I am SO excited to find what I believe are the monuments for my grandparents! Grandparents know nothing about, other than their names..even my Mom didn't know her parents...thank you for what you do. And please tell me how I can help you!

PAYNEGeorge Poulton PayneThanks for the gravestone photo. Unfortunately it was too damaged to read well, but I am pretty sure that this is the grave of George Poulton Payne and his wife Sarah (not Ann). George Payne and family lived near Bramham and rode with the Bramham Hunt in the early 1800's until at least 1840. He then later farmed in Bilbrough and owned/ran with son Henry the Wild Man pub, at Street Houses on the Tadcaster to York road.

MACDONELLMACDONELL OF GLENGARRYThanks ever so much for the photograph - The ancestor in England who helped pay for the refurbishment would be Mr. Hiley I think - when that work was being carried out, I was unaware of my connection to the family.

OVERTONOverton family linksI have been able to trace my father's side back a few generations. He was James Alan Overton, and his father was James Leonard Overton born 1880 in Grimsbury, Warkworth; and his father was James Haddon Overton born 1855 in Gayton, Norfolk; but his father was only James Overton, born about 1831 in Elsing, Norfolk - I THINK. He might be James Yaxley Overton, but he definitely married Martha Blogg. His father in turn may be another James Yaxley Overton. I have come across hints of this. I am striving to be sure of this last one and find the connections further back. My father told me we are descended from Robert Overton (1609-1679), one of Cromwell's Generals, but I'd love to be able to make the link (or not). My mother's side traces back to a John (Johannes) Johans (Dutch) who was born 9 April 1800, presumably in the Netherlands (maybe India), and died 15 Aug 1854 in India. I'd love to find any more details of his forebears!! Any help is enormously appreciated.

PALLISERPalliser/Pallister ImagesFirstly, I want to you very much for all the work that has been put into this project. I have found the Pallister family that you have put up but now I need help. Is it possibly to get images of the other Pallister/Palliser headstones in St. Peter's in Rawdon? I have a transcription of the Palliser Burials 1813-1956 at St. Peter's which I believe in the notes section it lists possibly the locations. If anyone is going there to take photos, could they contact me and I could possibly give them this information. I live in Canada and find it impossible to visit England to get these myself. Thanks, Judy
