Became a saddler and practised in Princes St; and finally South St. Andrew St. Appointed Saddler to H. Majesty in Scotland. Married probably in 1798. Father of Marion was a skinner and leather dresser in Coltbridge; Murrayfield. They lived in Coltbridge House. Robert died there and interred under the South Terrace in Vault No. 11. Marion continued to live at Coltbridge House; where died on 24th May; interred in Vault No. 12.
