Amy Constance Brewster, daughter of Capt David Edward Brewster, 62nd Native Infantry & Lydia Julia Blunt (dau of Ensign Henry Blunt and Eliza Julia Browne, was born 7 May 1853 & baptised 7 Aug 1853 at Bhaugulpore, Bengal. David, her father, rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Bengal Native Infantry. He changed their name to Macpherson in 1862 in consequence of succeeding to his mother’s sister’s (Anne Macpherson) entailed estate of Belville, nr Kingussie, Inverness-shire. [foxtalbot.dmu.ac.uk] She married John Henry Baxter, MA, JP on 16 Sep 1876 at St John's Anglican Church, Edinburgh. They had a daughter, Evelyn Vida Baxter, born 1879 & a son, Lt Col Noel Edward Baxter, DL, Hampshire Regiment, born 1880 & died 1950.
