He changed their name to Macpherson in 1862 in consequence of succeeding to his mother’s sister’s (Anne Macpherson) entailed estate of Belville, nr Kingussie, Inverness-shire. [foxtalbot.dmu.ac.uk] She married John Henry Baxter, MA, JP on 16 Sep 1876 at St John's Anglican Church, Edinburgh. They had a daughter, Evelyn Vida Baxter, born 1879 & a son, Lt Col Noel Edward Baxter, DL, Hampshire Regiment, born 1880 & died 1950. |
