The follow note is stored against Adrien Victor Feuchères record:

Feuchères served in Napoléon's armies. After the fall of Napoléon; he was appointed ADC to the Prince de Condé; the cousin of the kings Louis XVI; Louis XVIII and Charles X. Condé met the English adventuress Sophie Dawes in a London brothel during his years of exile; and she became his mistress. However he passed her off as his daughter; and persuaded Feuchères to marry her to cover up their on-going liaison. In 1824 Feuchère discovered the truth; and separated from his wife; who was banished from court. She continued to see the Prince; and is believed to have killed him accidentally in a sexual game of strangulation in 1830. Dawes was the beneficiary of the Prince's will and considerable fortune; which later passed to her estranged husband; Feuchères; upon her death in 1840 in London. (Divorce did not yet exist in France). Feuchères returned to Nîmes and led an exemplary life of local notability; and was eventually promoted to general.
