William Illingworth was born in Sutton-in Craven, Yorkshire on 2 Mar 1811. He was christened at Kildwick on 31 Mar 1811. On 22 May 1834 he married Sarah Holderness at Holy Trinity Church, Hull. They had 7 children. Sarah died in 1877. On 25 Jul 1878 William married Sarah Ann Holderness, also of Hull, first cousin of his first wife Sarah. They had no children. William died on 8 April 1886 in Leeds. He was a wholesale grocer.
