A wall monument with a Corinthian frame enclosing two garlanded oval recesses containing the portrait busts of Sir John Compton and his wife Bridget. Sir John was the son of John Compton and Joan Compton (nee Michelborne) , whose floor brass is to the left of the altar. Memorials to Sir John and Lady Bridget's two daughters , who pre-deceased them , are on the north wall opposite. The monument to Sir John and Lady Bridget was made by Edward Marshall (1597/8-1675) , a sculptor and master mason. The monument was commissioned by their only surviving grandson Compton Tichborne , whose own memorial is to the right.
