Reportly drowned 1st July 1942 with the sinking of the Montevideo Maru. naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/ViewImage.aspx?B=102239andS=137 - P111 of 193 but there is now doubt regarding this information given by the Japanese. Reported missing in Pacific Islands Monthly Nov 1942 (NAA A518 , DS16/2/1 Part 1 P.221)
