William and Sarah (nee Taylor) Jardine were my great great grandparents on my father's side. Elizabeth Jane Lloyd was one of their daughters, having married Joseph Pater first, and after his death, Llewellin Lloyd. This second marriage was not a success. Sarah Rooke who married George Rooke, was also a daughter of William and Sarah. I cannot find out anything about William Jardine or where he originated, but he worked in Liverpool and was a wealthy man. Jardine is a common Scots name so possibly he was a Scot.
