Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Emma and Anne Elliot were sisters, both born in Newcastle and both Victorian novelists. My research is on the Victorian novel (see my database at www.victorianresearch.org/atcl). After much research, I have finally identified these two women and you have given me their death dates! Emma was born in 1850 and Anne in 1855 or 56. Thank you! Best, Troy Bassett

The two buried here were sisters and both wrote novels in the nineteenth century. I study Victorian fiction and want to learn more about them.
