He acquired land from a John Taylor, yeoman, under an Indenture of Ffeofment dated 28th January 1778. When Thomas Gaze died, the land passed to his son, Thomas Gaze, and then to his son James who between 1825 and 1827 built the Stow Hill flour mill. Thomas had two wives, Elizabeth Marker and Mary Harmer and 6 children. |
