Nelson is my direct ancestor and son of William Cattee born in Sloely Norfolk in 1775. He joined the RN in Great Yarmouth and fought in the battle of Copenhagen in 1801 with Horatio Nelson. Details of his life can be found in a Settlement Examination at Oulton in 1803. This is held in the Norfolk Record Office. My father was born in Stalham and I have traced my family back to 1580. The earliest record is in Repps with Bastwick, but they mainly lived and worked in Ingham and close parishes as wheelwrights/carpenters. I have visited his stone several time on holiday but it would be nice to have a photograph and leave this note to help others.
