1957861871relationship not given of Sarah Elizabeth HainesArthur Henry Haines was the husband of Sarah Elizabeth née Mason. After her death and burial at Honing in early 1950 he went to live in Nottinghamshire, and died there on 13 June 1957, but was buried back in Honing with his wife. Arthur's 2nd name was Henry - as recorded at his birth registration, his baptism & his death registration - and this is the name known by his surviving descendants. It is therefore not known why the MI on his grave appears to give his 2nd name as James!

Please note that all ages and dates of birth in red have been calculated and are probably not on the monument.

The calculated dates of birth should be treated with caution as in many cases it can be one year out.

The calculated dates of birth should also be treated with caution as the ages given on monuments are often inaccurate.

The names above are all the names that are listed on the grave monument. It is most likely that only the entries with dates and ages are interred in the grave.

Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Arthur Henry Haines is a great granduncle, & is great grandfather of a 3rd cousin, Ian Haines, with whom I am corresponding. The bottom half of this gravestone is now damaged and only semi-legible, and your listing is the 1st indication we have that someone has previously been able to read Arthur's age and/or date of death (we cannot yet find his death in the GRO index). This photo would hopefully help us to pin down his death information and (literally) fill the gaps in Ian's photo of the MI. I have not been taking enough graveyard photos to make it worthwhile sending them to you, but it is possible that I will in the not-too-distant future be volunteering to research the parish records for the small village of Leybourne, Kent, where I now live, and may thus be trying to photograph all the MIs in Ss Peter & Paul church here - in which case I will be happy to contribute them to this site in due course. Many thanks, Chris
