Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am currently researching those officers who served with 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers and who made the supreme sacrifice
(requested on 24 06 2014)
He was my great-uncle.
(requested on 01 11 2014)
We were fortunate to get a poppy from the Tower of London and have researched my mother's grandfather who was killed in the first world war. He was a solicitor in Yarm before the war and appears on the war memorial there. We are preparing a folder to give the poppy and any documents or photos we can find to my mother. She lost her father in WW2 when she was a baby too so family history is very important to her. Thank you. Paul

I hope to build a free database of all soldiers who died while serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers, including their photo, and grave / memorials to them
