Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

William Francis Bentinck Loftus was, by the 1865 marriage of his son William James Loftus (1822-1887), the father-in-law of Emmeline Louisa Charlotte Parrott (1831-1898), who was from another military family; her brother Evelyn Latimer Parratt (1819-1909) married, in 1866 as his second wife, my 3rd great grand aunt Elizabeth Howcroft (1826-1889) widow of Josiah Wigglesworth. My grandmother inherited photos of Elizabeth and her daughter Joy Wigglesworth, who was presented to the Queen, and I only recently found out how we are related; I'm interested in finding out about people my family knew.

Dear Sir/Madam, As I have mentioned on another request I have sent to view one of your monuments, I am currently researching my family history, and was thrilled to see that there are 2 memorials I could have a look at regarding General William Loftus, who is an ancestor of mine. Any help you could give me regarding this would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Kind Regards, Claire Mitchell

I am a volunteer at Clandon Park, Surrey (National Trust house), where we have a painting of a William Francis Bentinck Loftus, so it would be useful to obtain more information of him.
