11BuddJohn Buddid: 7.15601981871The Reverend Thomas Hervey referred to this stone and brick table tomb (now Grade 2 listed) as one of a cluster of three for John , Mary and Henry Budd (History of Colmer and Priors Dean , 1880 , p231). Henry's tomb is still distinguishable , but weathering has made the names on the other two tombs illegible.

14ComptonIohn [john] Compton1574791653id: 2045602511901A wall monument with a Corinthian frame enclosing two garlanded oval recesses containing the portrait busts of Sir John Compton and his wife Bridget. Sir John was the son of John Compton and Joan Compton (nee Michelborne) , whose floor brass is to the left of the altar. Memorials to Sir John and Lady Bridget's two daughters , who pre-deceased them , are on the north wall opposite. The monument to Sir John and Lady Bridget was made by Edward Marshall (1597/8-1675) , a sculptor and master mason. The monument was commissioned by their only surviving grandson Compton Tichborne , whose own memorial is to the right.
