Joined the army in the Peninsula in 1810 and was present at the pusuit of Massena; action of Redhina; capture of Campo Major and Olivenca; siege of Badajoz; and battle of Albuhera; where he received a rifle shot through the calf of the leg; and a musket ball in the right breast; which was extracted from the back having passed through the lungs; rejoined the army in the peninsula in 1813; and commanded the regiment at the battles of Orthes and Toulouse.

In 1871 was living with his family at Upton Upon Severn, Worcs, employed as a gardener. In 1881, 1891 and 1901 was living with his family at Holdfast, Worcs, employed as a domestic gardener. Died on 16 May 1904 and was buried at St Nicholas, Queenhill, Worcs, where he has a memorial in the churchyard along with his wife and daughter Frances.
Frances Ann Prosserdaughter of Mark Prosser1867571924 Baptised on 12 January 1868 at Upton Upon Severn, Worcs. Daughter of Mark Prosser and Mary Taylor. In 1871 was living with her parents at Upton Upon Severn, Worcs. In 1881 was living with her family at Holdfast, Worcs, where she was a scholar and was known as Ann. Died on 22 August 1924 and was buried at St Nicholas, Queenhill, Worcs, where she has a memorial in the churchyard along with her parents.
Mary Prosserwife of Mark Prosser1840881928 Born in 1841 at Yarkhill, Herefordshire. Married Mark Prosser in 1866 at Ledbury and had six children; Frances Ann, Charles Gilbert, William Albert, Henry Ernest, Herbert George and Ada Emma. In 1871 was living with her family at Upton Upon Severn, Worcs. In 1881 and 1901 was living with her family at Holdfast, Worcs. In 1911 was widowed and living with her children at Upton Upon Severn, Worcs. Died on 13 February 1928 and was buried at St Nicholas, Queenhill, Worcs, where she has a memorial in the churchyard along with her husband and daughter Frances.
