William Laskey
William Laskey William Gearing Laskey, birth place and date unknown to me. Married Mary James on 30th March 1796, Mylor, Cornwall. (See Cornwall OPC Database). William was the son of Reverend William Laskey and Sarah Gering(Gearing). William and Mary James Laskey had 4 children that I can find on the LDS Family Search site: Mary Ann James Born 13 Dec 1797, Phillis James Born 2 Jun 1800, William James born 5 Sept 1802 and Susanna James born 28 Jan 1818 and there may be more, as someone has stated. Phillis James Laskey married John Carter 28 Jun 1829 (see Cornwall OPC Database) at Mylor, Cornwall. They spent most of their lives at Hope Cove, South Huish, Devon, where John was a coastguard. They lived in the Coastguards station's cottages, still used, on the foreshore. Laskey (originally Laski) is a Jewish Polish name and means a person from Lask (pronounced Wask) and it is a town of about 18,000 people, found just south west of Lodz.
