During his time in the army his wife gave birth to a daughter in Jamaica West Indies. Their daughter, Marianne Baillie was an author of two travel books and a versifier of Guy of Warwick,a Legend. Marianne and Arabella Norford's mother was Sarah Miller, the sister of Thomas Miller (1731-1804) bookseller of Bungay (see his entry in the Dictionary of National Biography).
