1383442431Monument built by his daughter in 1726. Carstares was Principal of the University and Minister of Greyfriars. As adviser to William of Orange he was the architect of the Revolution Settlement of 1690 whereby the Church of Scotland in its Presbyterian form was recognised by the stare as the established church.
