Croft Lane Baptist's Church burial ground, Diss
In this derelict cemetery only one gravestone is legible although there are at least five more there. The other, visible, stones have been laid face down but, presumably, have inscriptions on them. The church wanted to dig up the bodies and have them re-buried at the municipal cemetery so that a house could be built on the land. This idea failed and so it was proposed that the bodies be left in situ and a house, on stilts, be built. This idea too seems to have come to nothing. The saga continues ...
