Baptist Church's burial ground, Bessels Green
Built in 1770 by a group headed by the Reverend John Stanger who had doctrinal differences with the general Baptist church and so split from the Unitarian Meeting House just up the road. This handsome chapel is still in regular use and little altered over 250 years. In the small graveyard can be found the graves of several ancestors of Stanger and of the early founders of the chapel. John Stanger himself is said to be buried under the floor of the chapel.
