Located - Rear Col 3. Died WWI 1914-1918. Full name Belford Alexander Wallis Wilson. Born Stoughton, 19/11/1874, educated at Clifton College Bristol. Moved to Ceylon (Sri Lanka) to work as tea planter. Served in Boer War in Ceylon Mounted Infantry. In WW1 joined Ceylon Royal Rifle Corps and attached to Royal Hampshire Regt. Fought in Dardanelles Campaign before moving to Western Front. Awarded two MCs. Commissioned as Temp 2nd Lt in 1916 into 2nd Bn Hampshires, attached to 14th Bn (Portsmouth Pals) Hampshires in Battle of Passchendale. Killed 26/9/1917 in Battle of Menin Road, near Tower Hamlets. Body never found, commemorated panel 88 of Tyne Cot. Father lived in Leamington Spa, hence memorial here. Also commemorated in All Saints Church, Dedworth; Clifton College Memorial Arch; fathers gravestone in Leamington Spa, and possibly in Sri Lanka.
