Known as Paul Guivant de Saint-Gast he was the director of the Marco Polo French Resistance spy network in Lyon. The network was crucial in monitoring the preparations for the V1 and V2 attacks on the UK in WW2. Arrested and tortured by the Gestapo and later died as a result of his wounds.
