George Shaw was the son of George and Jane Shaw. He was a very well-known Primitive Methodist Minister and the author of at least 9 books including a History of Grimsby that is currently in print. An excellent summary of his life including 2 portraits can be found on the Myprimitivemethodists website. Mary Ann (nee Gover) was his second wife and the sister of his first wife Kezia Gover.
