Constance de Théis was a noted poet and society hostess. After divorcing her first husband; in 1803 she married the Comte de Salm-Dyck; who was raised to the rank of Prince by the King of Prussia in 1816. From 1809 she was the host of a renowned literary and artistic salon at her mansion in Paris.
