Catherine was the daughter of Richard Talbot; and his wife Margaret who was the first Baroness Talbot de Malahide (in the peerage of Ireland); of Malahide Castle in the County of Dublin. Her mother who was a member of the distinguished Irish noble family; the Nugents. Other members of the Nugent family are also buried in the Paris cemeteries. The sons of Catherine and George Airey were General Sir Richard Airey; the 1st Lord Airey; who married one of his Talbot cousins; and General Sir James Talbot Airey; and their daughter Margaret married the Rev Sir Francis Stapleton Bt.
