Surgeon and Apothecary. Son of Richard Hooper and Ann Carruthers, baptised in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire on 19 December 1777. Married Elizabeth Neate on 20 July 1814 at Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire. No issue. His will, dated 10 February 1846, left everything to his nieces and nephews, primarily his nephew George Downing Hooper who succeeded him as the local surgeon in Wootton Bassett.
