To the Memory of Joseph Wane of Scarness who died 7th February 1788. Aged 90. Whose Remains are interred in this Isle in the same Grave where his first Wife Grace the Daughter of Charles Highmore of Armathwaite Esquire , was buried: who also died in the Month of December 1735 about the fiftieth Year of her Age. Also of Peter Son of the late Joseph and Amy Pearson of Bawness Great Grandson of the above , and late of the Ordnance Department of the Indian Army who departed this life on the 15th February 1870 , Aged 47 Years.
