Albert Henry Burton was the son of Joseph Henry and Bessie Maud Burton, of Middlesbrough; husband of Elsie Burton, of Middlesbrough. He served initially in The Green Howards but was transferred to the 6th Durham Light Infantry and landed in France on June 6th 1944 He was wounded in the Normandy breakout and despite being returned home died of wounds on June 17th 1944 He was 28 years old.
