of Sonna; Westmeath; Ireland. Hugh Tuite, born 1747, married Sarah Elizabeth Chenevix, daughter of Lt-Col Daniel Chenevix Royal Irish Artillery and of Ballycommon, King's Co., in Edinburgh on 08 November 1792. Annals of Westmeath by James Woods, 1907: Hugh Tuite, born 1747, entered the army, was in the 14th Light Dragoons, and attained the rank of Captain in the 39th regiment of foot, in which he served twelve years at Gibraltar, three years of which was during the blockade. He there made a prisoner of Baron Von Helmstadt, and received his sword.
