Stephen's middle name was Slinger He was a carrier, who was born in Kendal. Thomas his son who was born 13th August 1907, worked with him, as a driver before joining up and becoming a driver in the 2nd Res.M.T Royal Army Service Corps. Thomas was killed on the 23rd April 1941 in Napion, Greece. He married Margaret Tomlinson Cheeseman in 1934, who was born on the 5th May 1910, in New Hutton, Kendal. They had 3 children, Laura,born Great Strickland Frank and Thomas both born Patterdale
