Flora Downie. Buried at Leamington, Warwickshire. The dates given on the memorial are probably both inaccurate. Her father Rev. Alexander Downie's entry in the Fastii of the Church of Scotland gives her date of birth as 16 November 1799, probably at Lochalsh where he was Minister, and the newspaper death notice below gives her date of death as 24 May 1836. The Fastii entry gives her date of marriage to Alexander Kenneth McKinnon of Corry as 1826. Caledonian Mercury Saturday 4 June 1836 Issue 17934 Died At Leamington, Warwickshire, on the 24th ultimo, after a lingering illness, Flora, wife of A.K. McKinnon, Esq. of Corry, and eldest daughter of the late Rev. Alex. Downie, D.D., minister of Lochalsh, Ross-shire.
