I have been searching for my 3xg grandfather George Groat ships master to no avail i have been told he died 1853, also his wife janet hunter d c 1848. as i cannot find them i find thier son on here also george who was a boat carpenter. his and his wife. i realy appreciate this thank you. barbara.

I have recently joined the Family History Society and am at the beginning of my research. This I believe to be members of my family but would have to confirm with documentation. I really do appreciate this tremendous resource and only discovered it via Caithness.org when looking up the genealogy section. Thank you very much - in anticipation. I cannot help at the moment due to child minding but perhaps will be able to at a later date.
