I am researching my Caithness ancestry. I have been to Caithness from Naperville, Illinois and will come again. Next time I will visit this cemetery. I want to know more about the cause of death that beset my great grandfathers first wife, grand daughter and eldest son in 1876/77. Am guessing it was the FLU and lack of modern medicine, but it is simply a guess. I am having my genealogical record prepared by professionals and have advised them to look into your records for this grave site. Have met many Groats much younger than myself on LinkedIn. All in all, they are a very talented and well educated crew and located around the globe. But, they lack knowledge about their family roots, except in the broadest terms. They know they are from the Scottish line or the Dutch line, but not much more than that going back maybe, two generations. I want the younger ones coming up in my family to know who they are and from whence they came. The Scots have had a huge influence in shaping the world as we know it today. Sincerely, Jim Groat
