Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

James and Eliza are my great great great grandparents and I am researching my family history. I am interested in the details of Eliza's family as I can't find details online (I'm in Australia and can't come and research myself). I can trace James's patriarchal line back to his great great great grandfather who was also James Matthews who was a bedal and butler at Jesus College oxford and the Pardo in James's (Elizas husband) name comes from Thomas Pardo who was the Principal of Jesus College Oxford From 1727 - 1763 and was Godfather to Thomas Pardo Matthews who was James's (married to Eliza) great great grandfather. I would dearly love a copy of the monument so that I can read the inscription on there. I have manged to purchase a facsimile copy of "The History of the Parishes of Sherburn and Cawood" 2nd edition by William Wheater that gives details about the stained glass memorial to Eliza. I am also curious about the relationship between the Matthews and the Prests of Scarthingwell Park as Prest was a name that came down the family line with Pardo for a couple of generations. The Prest has since died out whereas the Pardo still remains. Thank you for reading this and also for the work you do. Linda Hall
