Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

William's sister, Sarah Fletcher (1812 - 1918), married John Gardiner (1798 - 1878), whose first wife was a distant cousin of mine (connected via my Balzer ancestry in Australia). William and Sarah were executors of John's estate. Sarah was apparently a cousin of John Gardiner -- his mother was Martha Fletcher (1766 - 1847) but I have not yet documented the relationship. Thank you

I am compiling a history of John Gardiner and his cousin William Fletcher, particularly focused on their time on Gardiner's Run at Yering in the Yarra Valley outside Melbourne. Information about Fletcher is relatively difficult to locate. Thanks in anticipation of having a picture of the resting place of Wiliam and several of his sisters.
