Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am the great grand daughter of James Anderson on the gravestone. Some of his grand children and greatgrandchildren and G G grandchildren live in Canada and my mother is like me in Yorkshire. We have just begun to research the Anderson family and the name Scrimgeour in our family.

James' brother Edward Charles Anderson was my Great Grandfather. I am working on the genealogy on my mother's line, her mom was an Anderson. We currently reside in Michigan, USA. I have been to Scotland, but when I was there, I didn't know that this cemetery existed, or that half of what I know now about my ancestry. I look forward to a future trip so that I can visit this cemetery, among others and see where my family is from. It would be amazing if, before I went, I could discover if there is still family living there. I'd love to meet them.
