Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am currently working on a book about the artist F.C.B. Cadell who is buried in the Dean Cemetary which is in fact sited beside the gallery. However, despite having spent a great deal of time looking for the grave, I have been unable to find it, and as yet I have been unable to find a map showing which graves are where. I was hoping that having some visual identification would assist in the process, so would be most grateful if you could supply the image.

I think you will find that the death date should be 1937 not 1927. I am an archivist for the Cadell family tree. Many thanks.

Hello, I'm doing research on the painter FCB Cadell, as well as on his parents (Francis and Mary Hamilton Boileau). I would be very grateful if you could send me an image. I am based near the Dean Cemetery, but I haven't been able to find this gravestone yet - I'm sure an image would help me greatly! Many thanks indeed, Kirstie Meehan

Doing some research on the Cadell family for York Castle Museum.

I believe and am certain that Mary Boileau is a relative. Mary Hamilton Eliza BOILEAU, b. C 1856. She married I though a Dr A CADELL, m. 6 Jan 1870, in Tamil, Nadu, Madras, India. I believe I have a picture (Copy) of her I received from a cousin (Strangways family). Mary Hamiliton Bolieau is related to me through Tovey family. Mary took care of General George Strangways' youngest Children (her cousin or niece/nephews that survived the 1857 Mutiny in Lucknow). For those doing family research Cadell, Strangway, Tovey, and Drysdale families all were close. Several members of the DRYSALE, TOVEY, Strangways families moved to Colorado in 1880s. Can I get a picture of the other C Boileau Cadell as well THanks!.

To whom it may concern, I'm the Assistant Curator of The Scottish Colourist Series that is currently being held at The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art Edinburgh. I'd be extremely grateful if you could send an image of Cadell's gravestone, for our reference/research purposes. Might you happen to know where exactly it is located in the Cemetery? Kind regards, Rachel

I am doing some research into Jessie Cadell (nee Nash) as a translator of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. I had gathered from Garnett's introduction to her posthumous book that she was buried in the Protestant Cemetery in Florence! Was her body later transferred from there to Edinburgh then, and if so when ?

I am a distant relative of the Cadell family.
